Second Day Parliament: PM Modi, Advani, Sonia take oath as Lok Sabha members

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is also the leader of the House, along with NDA Chairperson LK Advani and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi were the first to take oath as Lok Sabha members. Interestingly, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj  took oath in Sanskrit. The oath was administered by Protem Speaker Kamal Nath.

Narendra Modi is set to make his debut in Washington DC on September

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Washington to meet President Barack Obama in September, according to newspaper reports on Thursday, signalling a new start in ties with a leader once denied a visa by the United States.

New Delhi: There is likely to be a reshuffle in the All India Congress Committee after Parliament session ends on June 11, according to sources.

Kamal Nath sworn-in as pro-tem speaker, pays tribute to munde:

Senior Congress leader Kamal Nath sworn in as Protem Speaker of the newly constituted Lok Sabha
The House had to be adjourned immediately after paying homage to Union Rural Development Minister Gopinath Munde, who died in a road accident on Tuesday.

Jagat Prakash Nadda to replace Rajnath Singh as BJP chief

Reports have indicated that the little known BJP General Secretary, Jagat Prakash Nadda, is tipped to become the next party chief, as incumbent president Rajnath Singh is most likely to join the Cabinet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
